August 8, 2025----An evaluation team from the Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF), comprising Dr. Mirza Habib Ali, Director Research Support/Member Finance, Dr. Rafaqat Masroor, Principal Scientific Officer, and Dr. Muhammad Ijaz, Principal Scientist/Head of the Rice Research Institute, Kala Shah Kaku (as an expert), visited the Centre of Excellence in Molecular Biology (CEMB) to assess a PSF-funded project NSLP-955, led by Prof. Abdul Qayyum. |
The project, titled “Development of Climate Resilient Cotton Resistant to Drought and Heat through Editing of Negative Regulators by Using Cpf1 Multiplex System,” was presented by Prof. Abdul Qayyum, who outlined the successful achievement of all project objectives. |
Following a comprehensive presentation and interactive question-and-answer session, the PSF evaluation team commended the project’s exceptional accomplishment, noting that it had met its commitments to the fullest extent. The evaluators further remarked that future projects from CEMB would be welcomed “open-heartedly,” as this initiative demonstrated exemplary scientific achievement and impact. |
